The Blueberry/Waffle Optimal Distribution Study.

The Blueberry/Waffle Optimal Distribution Study.

The goal is to find the proper blueberry density per waffle.

This study was done using a Proctor Silex round waffle maker with homemade waffle batter.

Pre Conclusion: It was not considered wise to mix the blueberries in the batter because they, being a friendly berry, tend to clump together preventing any possibility of even distribution and would get crushed preventing the proper baking of the waffle in that area and who wants that.

Once the waffle was baked according to convention and placed on the plate a single blueberry was placed in each pocket. This presented the first problem because the waffles are round and while the full sized pockets in the center of the waffle were perfect for a berry, the triangle shaped pockets around the periphery would only accommodate smaller berries and even at that the short walls of the pockets tended to let the berry exit the pocket during the fork lift to the mouth. The resulting effect was to have an excess of waffel per berry.

Further tests need to be done using square waffles.
