Defining the difference between "complete" and "finished".

No dictionary has ever been able to satisfactorily define the difference between "complete" and "finished".

However, in a linguistic conference, held in London England, and attended by some of the best linguists in the world, Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese was the clever winner. His final challenge was this. Some say there is no difference between "complete" and "finished". Please explain the difference in a way that is easy to understand. His response was: When you marry the right woman, you are "complete". If you marry the wrong woman, you are "finished". And, when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are "completely finished".

Study: Most sponsors of minimum wage hike bill don't pay interns | Fox News

While congressional Democrats want employers to adhere to a proposed increase in the federal minimum wage, a new analysis shows most bill sponsors are not so generous with some of their own workers.

The Employment Policies Institute found that 96 percent of House and Senate sponsors of the minimum wage bill do not pay their interns. That includes lead bill sponsors, like Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, according to the study. ....

Great Golf Joke

Jim decided to tie the knot with his long time girlfriend.

One evening, after the honeymoon, he was cleaning his golf shoes. His wife was standing there watching him. After a long period of silence she finally speaks. "Honey, I've been thinking, now that we are married I think it's time you quit golfing. Maybe you should sell your golf clubs."

Jim gets this horrified look on his face. She says, "Darling, what's wrong?"

"There for a minute you were sounding like my ex-wife."

"Ex-wife!" she screams, "I didn't know you were married before!"

"I wasn't!"

Gun flight: Smith & Wesson, Ruger quit California over stamping requirement | Fox News

This puts a stamp on the casing, not the bullet. All someone need do is collect or trap the casings or use someone else's gun to defeat this. Just another stupid liberal law that serves no purpose other than to try to ban all guns.

How Leonardo DiCaprio Cost New York Taxpayers $30 Million

How Leonardo DiCaprio Cost New York Taxpayers $30 Million - NationalJournal.com

The people of New York may think one of last year's biggest films only cost them a $15 ticket, but they'd be wrong.
Thanks to state law, The Wolf of Wall Street received a 30-percent tax credit from New York State, which means taxpayers paid for $30 million of the movie's $100 million budget, according to the Manhattan Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan economic research and policy group. ...

Article: The Blame in the Senate Report on Benghazi

... By saying that he didn't have to get Congress's permission because whatever we were doing didn't rise to the level of "hostilities," he was willing it to always be so. There was no challenge then, but there also wasn't the kind of consent that might have put some check on the most partisan extremes in the fight about Benghazi now. Obama and his advisers had decided beforehand that this was limited, and wouldn't go wrong; and then it did.

Israeli Defense Minister: Kerry is 'Obsessive,' 'Messianic'

Israeli Defense Minister: Kerry is 'Obsessive,' 'Messianic'

Israel's Defense Minister, Moshe "Boogy" Ya'alon, is facingcriticism from the opposition after slamming U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry. The Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot reported earlier on Tuesday that the outspoken Ya'alon had said that Kerry, who recently completed his tenth trip to the region in less than a year on the job, "turned up here determined and acting out of misplaced obsession and messianic fervor" for a peace deal.
Ya'alon added: "In reality, there have been no negotiations between us and the Palestinians for all these months --but rather between us and the Americans. The only thing that can 'save us' is for John Kerry to win a Nobel Prize and leave us in peace." Breitbart News offered a similar analysis last week, noting: "The real negotiations are not those between Israel and the Palestinians, but between Israel and the Obama administration.
In addition, Ya'alon was candid in his views of Kerry's plan for Israel's security in a peace agreement, saying that it was "not worth the paper it's written on....It contains no peace and no security." Israel's chief negotiator, Tzipi Livni, accused Ya'alon of harming relations with the U.S., but other politicians came to his defense. "The State of Israel can't sacrifice its security and it can't outsource the state's security to censors," one said.

It seems obvious to me that Obamacare is a huge failure and the only solution is to vote dems out of office. But don't underestimate the stupidity of dem voters. They keep proving it time and time again when they vote for more dems.

Leno: ‘American Hustle - a Film About the Marketing of ObamaCare’

And then he said:

... LENO: And in the wake of this embarrassing scandal, Governor Christie has fired the person responsible, to which President Obama said, "You can do that? Really?" [Applause]
Well, you know, former, former secretary of state [sic] Robert Gates has written a scathing indictment of the Obama administration in his new book going so far as to say that every decision Joe Biden made was wrong. But the White House said, "No, Joe Biden has played a key role in almost every decision." So it’s hard to tell if the White House is complimenting Biden or just trying to spread the blame. I'm not sure. [Laughter] I'm trying to figure it out which. ...

Pelosi To Reporter: It's Not Called Obamacare, It's The Affordable Care Act | Video | RealClearPolitics

She just gave the MSM their marching orders. Now you can tell who is drinking the Koolaid by who starts using the ACA name instead of Obamacare. Why push this? They want to distance Obama from Obamacare because it's very unpopular. It's better for them to call it the ACA for that reason. Who will follow her order will tell you who is in her pocket.

The Penalty of Leadership

Daring Fireball Linked List: The Penalty of Leadership

From a 1915 Cadillac ad:

"The leader is assailed because he is a leader, and the effort to equal him is merely added proof of that leadership. Failing to equal or to excel, the follower seeks to depreciate and to destroy — but only confirms once more the superiority of that which he strives to supplant. There is nothing new in this. It is as old as the world and as old as human passions — envy, fear, greed, ambition, and the desire to surpass. And it all avails nothing. If the leader truly leads, he remains — the leader."

The Real Global Warming Disaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Real Global Warming Disaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The left is currently upset that people are making fun of global warming scientists being stuck in the ice. Yet they have no problem making fun of those who question if global warming is real or just a way for people like Al Gore to make millions off those who are low IQ true believers. The difference to me is simple. It may or may not be real but I don't see how it is human caused or if it is human caused how that cause can be reasonably reversed. I would be more likely to listen to those who claim it is real if I didn't know they had a political, power and money making reason for selling me the idea that it is. Instead they just ridicule people like me and call me stupid.

A Speck in the Sea

A Speck in the Sea - NYTimes.com
Looking back, John Aldridge knew it was a stupid move. When you’re alone on the deck of a lobster boat in the middle of the night, 40 miles off the tip of Long Island, you don’t take chances. But he had work to do: He needed to start pumping water into the Anna Mary’s holding tanks to chill, so that when he and his partner, Anthony Sosinski, reached their first string of traps a few miles farther south, the water would be cold enough to keep the lobsters alive for the return trip. In order to get to the tanks, he had to open a metal hatch on the deck. And the hatch was covered by two 35-gallon Coleman coolers, giant plastic insulated ice chests that he and Sosinski filled before leaving the dock in Montauk harbor seven hours earlier. The coolers, full, weighed about 200 pounds, and the only way for Aldridge to move them alone was to snag a box hook onto the plastic handle of the bottom one, brace his legs, lean back and pull with all his might.
And then the handle snapped. ...
This is one hell of a story.
