Here's the proof: A large portion of the constituency of the left is made up of people in the lower income portion of society. There are far more people on the left on the dole than on the right. People with higher I.Q's. earn more and like to keep what they earn and therefore tend to the right.
There are individuals on the left who are smart but the average I.Q. of the left is lower.

The reason there is now more independents is that the PEOPLE on the left and the right reject the elites and the sooner they take a hike the better.

The confusion or dispute is whether someone like Kruz, born of an American mother in Canada is just an American citizen or a Natural Born Citizen as required by the constitution.

It seems the dispute will rage for awhile and be forgotten soon. If Kruz becomes the nominee it is good to get this out of the way now and not confuse the issue later on. In that regard Kruz owes Thump thanks for bringing it up now.
