The Wall
A little history most people will never know.
Interesting Veterans Statistics off the Vietnam Memorial Wall
There are 58,267 names now listed on that polished black wall, including those added in 2010.
The names are arranged in the order in which they were taken from us by date and within each date the names are alphabetized. It is hard to believe it is 36 years since the last casualties.
The first known casualty was Richard B. Fitzgibbon, of North Weymouth , Mass. Listed by the U.S. Department of Defense as having been killed on June 8, 1956. His name is listed on the Wall with that of his son, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Richard B. Fitzgibbon III, who was killed on Sept. 7, 1965.
There are three sets of fathers and sons on the Wall.
39,996 on the Wall were just 22 or younger.
8,283 were just 19 years old.
The largest age group, 33,103 were 18 years old.
12 soldiers on the Wall were 17 years old.
5 soldiers on the Wall were 16 years old.
One soldier, PFC Dan Bullock was 15 years old.
997 soldiers were killed on their first day in Vietnam ..
1,448 soldiers were killed on their last day in Vietnam ..
31 sets of brothers are on the Wall and 31 sets of parents lost two of their sons.
54 soldiers attended Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia . I wonder why so many from one school.
8 Women are on the Wall. Nursing the wounded.
244 soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War; 153 of them are on the Wall.
Beallsville, Ohio with a population of 475 lost 6 of her sons.
West Virginia had the highest casualty rate per capita in the nation. There are 711 West Virginians on the Wall.
The Marines of Morenci - They led some of the scrappiest high school football and basketball teams that the little Arizona copper town of Morenci (pop. 5,058) had ever known and cheered. They enjoyed roaring beer busts. In quieter moments, they rode horses along the Coronado Trail, stalked deer in the Apache National Forest. And in the patriotic camaraderie typical of Morenci's mining families, the nine graduates of Morenci High enlisted as a group in the Marine Corps. Their service began on Independence Day, 1966. Only 3 returned home.
The Buddies of Midvale - LeRoy Tafoya, Jimmy Martinez, Tom Gonzales were all boyhood friends and lived on three consecutive streets in Midvale, Utah on Fifth, Sixth and Seventh avenues. They lived only a few yards apart. They played ball at the adjacent sandlot ball field. And they all went to Vietnam. In a span of 16 dark days in late 1967, all three would be killed. LeRoy was killed on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the fourth anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. Jimmy died less than 24 hours later on Thanksgiving Day. Tom was shot dead assaulting the enemy on Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor
Remembrance Day.
The most casualty deaths for a single day was on January 31, 1968 ~ 245 deaths.
The most casualty deaths for a single month was May 1968 - 2,415 casualties were incurred.
For most Americans who read this they will only see the numbers that the Vietnam War created. To those of us who survived the war, and to the families of those who did not, we see the faces, we feel the pain that these numbers created. We are, until we too pass away, haunted with these numbers, because they were our friends, fathers, husbands, wives, sons and daughters.
There are no noble wars, just noble warriors.HT:A

Americans Migrating To More Free GOP States With Better Income Growth - Investors.com:
Americans are migrating from less-free liberal states to more-free conservative states, where they are doing better economically, according to a new study published Thursday by the George Mason University's Mercatus Center.
The "Freedom in the 50 States" study measured economic and personal freedom using a wide range of criteria, including tax rates, government spending and debt, regulatory burdens, and state laws covering land use, union organizing, gun control, education choice and more.
It found that the freest states tended to be conservative "red" states, while the least free were liberal "blue" states.
The freest state overall, the researchers concluded, was North Dakota, followed by South Dakota, Tennessee, New Hampshire and Oklahoma.
The least free state by far was New York, followed by California, New Jersey, Hawaii and Rhode Island. ...

Democrat Congresswoman Admits "Assault Weapons" Ban is "Just the Beginning"
Democrat Congresswoman Admits "Assault Weapons" Ban is "Just the Beginning"
As reported by Breitbart.com this week, anti-gun U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) was interviewed at a rally on February 13, and admitted to the reporter that proposed gun and magazine ban legislation (S. 150, the "Assault Weapons Ban of 2013") is "just the beginning" of a broader gun control agenda that will eventually include handguns.
According to the article, Schakowsky--who has a well-deserved "F" rating from NRA's Political Victory Fund--told the reporter, "We want everything on the table. This is a moment of opportunity. There's no question about it."
"We're on a roll now," Schakowsky continued, "and I think we've got to take the--you know, we're gonna push as hard as we can and as far as we can."
The reporter asked, "So the assault weapons ban is just the beginning?"
To which Schakowsky replied, "Oh absolutely. I mean, I'm against handguns. We have, in Illinois, the Council Against Handgun... something. Yeah, I'm a member of that. So, absolutely."
The interview further displayed Schakowsky's constitutional ignorance and disdain when she asserted that a handgun ban would be possible, despite recent Supreme Court rulings rejecting such bans. And she exposed the true goal of many gun grabbers on Capitol Hill.
When the reporter said, "We'll never get a handgun ban with the Second Amendment as stated." Schakowsky responded, "I don't know. I don't know that we can't. And there may be an allowance, once again, for communities--I have communities in my district that prohibited handguns within their borders. The rights of municipalities and states to view that as a sensible way to keep people safe--I don't think it's precluded."
When the reporter asked why legislators were not pressing for a handgun ban, Schakowsky responded, "Because we're not going to be able to win that. Not now."

Obama Trying to ‘Destroy the Country’
Dr. Benjamin Carson, the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital who garnered national headlines for his pointed remarks at last month's National Prayer Breakfast, says that President Obama and his political allies are trying to "destroy the country."
"Let's say somebody were [in the White House] and they wanted to destroy this nation," Carson postulated in remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference. "I would create division among the people, encourage a culture of ridicule for basic morality and the principles that made and sustained the country, undermine the financial stability of the nation, and weaken and destroy the military. It appears coincidentally that those are the very things that are happening right now."
Carson, who is 62, said that the blame for the nation's current state of affairs does not lie with "any one particular person." His barbs, though, were clearly aimed at President Obama. ...

Gun Control = People Control = Loss of Liberty
The Democrats know that an assault weapon ban will do nothing to prevent random violence from deranged people. They know that banning large gun clips will do nothing. Their plan is to ban these things and then after nothing changes they will say they have to do more and will push to ban more and more guns until they have us unarmed. At that point they will, like Hitler, be able to control us.
And that is why I despise those un-American Democrats who support this. Only a fool would vote for someone who wants to take away their liberty. But through history we have seen it happen again and again. If you don't stand up for your own rights then don't expect anyone else to do it for you.

Walt Mossberg: How Apple Gets All the Good Apps - Walt Mossberg - Personal Technology - AllThingsD:
"Apple tightly controls its software and hardware, and is fiercely competitive in battling its rivals, especially in the mobile market. And yet, while the company never creates apps for anyone else’s mobile system or device, each of its major mobile-platform foes — Google, Amazon and Microsoft — make many of their apps available for Apple devices. That makes those devices the sort of Switzerlands of the mobile world.

Racist?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab
Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.. You pass me on the street and
sneer in my direction.
You call me 'White boy', 'Cracker', 'Honkey', 'Whitey', 'Caveman'...
and that's OK...
But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel
Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ... You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you...
So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah.
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
You have the NAACP.
You have BET....
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives,
we'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce,
and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that??
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any
color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships...
You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US .... yet
if there were 'White colleges', that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your
race and rights.
If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not
afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, car jack us, and shoot at us..
But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats
up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to
society, you call him a racist.
I am proud....... But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists??
There is nothing improper about this email.
Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on.
I sadly don't think many will.
That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country.
We won't stand up for ourselves!
BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!
It's not a crime YET... but getting very close!

His approval rating has dropped to the lowest level in more than a year, with more voters now turning thumbs down on his performance than thumbs up, according to a new McClatchy-Marist poll. The measure of how much people like him also has dropped."

1.6 Billion Rounds Of Ammo For Homeland Security?
1.6 Billion Rounds Of Ammo For Homeland Security? It's Time For A National Conversation - Forbes:
… "Homeland Security aims to buy 1.6b rounds of ammo, so far to little notice. It confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security has issued an open purchase order for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. As reported elsewhere, some of this purchase order is for hollow-point rounds, forbidden by international law for use in war, along with a frightening amount specialized for snipers. Also reported elsewhere, at the height of the Iraq War the Army was expending less than 6 million rounds a month. Therefore 1.6 billion rounds would be enough to sustain a hot war for 20+ years. In America.
Add to this perplexing outré purchase of ammo, DHS now is showing off its acquisition of heavily armored personnel carriers, repatriated from the Iraqi and Afghani theaters of operation." ...
Why? Perhaps it's not so far fetched to think Obama does want to be a dictator and will use this to do it. I think I and everyone else should buy guns and get the ammo for it while you're at it. Am I crazy? No, just cautions. Plus, I never trusted dems to uphold American values or the Constitution.
Judge Halts Bloomberg's Stupid New York City Soda Ban
Judge Halts New York City Soda Ban - WSJ.com:
"A state judge on Monday stopped Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration from banning New York City restaurants and other venues from selling large sugary drinks, a major defeat for the mayor who has made public a health initiatives a cornerstone of his tenure at City Hall.
The city is 'enjoined and permanently restrained from implementing or enforcing the new regulations,' New York Supreme Court Judge Milton Tingling decided Monday.
The regulations are 'fraught with arbitrary and capricious consequences,' the judge wrote. 'The simple reading of the rule leads to the earlier acknowledged uneven enforcement even within a particular city block, much less the city as a whole….the loopholes in this rule effectively defeat the state purpose of the rule.'"
Without doubt Bloomberg is a fool, an asshole, a blithering idiot, a would be dictator, a jerk etc.

The Sequester's Unkindest Cuts : The New Yorker
The Sequester's Unkindest Cuts : The New Yorker:
… "If this is indeed the gamesmanship it appears to be, then, well, one such turn deserves another, right? Representative Louie Gohmert, a Texas Republican, has introduced a measure that would, if passed, cut off all funding for transporting President Obama to and from the golf course as long as the tours remain shut down. Since Obama travels with a huge entourage of federal employees and is of course protected by the Secret Service everywhere he goes, the effect would be to prevent him from golfing at all.
Gohmert is a grandstander. He’s famous for, among other things, warning about ‘terror babies’; signing on to birther legislation; and casting the lone vote against a bill to remove the word ‘lunatic’ from federal law because, he said, ‘not only should we not eliminate the word ‘lunatic’ from federal law when the most pressing issue of the day is saving our country from bankruptcy, we should use the word to describe the people who want to continue with business as usual in Washington.’ In this case, the President’s golf game has little real impact but it quite effectively riles up conservatives, and Gohmert submitted his proposal as an amendment to a continuing resolution to fund the government. The House leadership was not allowing any amendments to the C.R. to be considered, so there was quite literally no chance that it could pass.
But, in this case, Gohmert was just giving the White House a taste of its own demagoguery. So it’s hard not to appreciate what he did—or, even, depending on your perspective, to love it a little. It could be an opportunity for the White House to start adhering to a new, better standard when it comes to the sequester fight: if you’re operating at Louie Gohmert’s level, try harder."
Obama, "I'll close the Whitehouse tours", Gohmert, "You can't play golf"
Like kids in a schoolyard, yet they run our country… Boy are we in sad shape.

MT. VERNON, TEXAS, WHOREHOUSE SUES LOCAL CHURCH OVER LIGHTNING STRIKE!
MT. VERNON, TEXAS, WHOREHOUSE SUES LOCAL CHURCH OVER LIGHTNING STRIKE!
Diamond D's brothel began construction on an expansion of their building to increase their ever-growing business. In response, the local Baptist Church started a campaign to block the business from expanding -- with morning, afternoon, and evening prayer sessions at their church. Work on Diamond D's progressed right up until the week before the grand reopening when lightning struck the whorehouse and burned it to the ground!
After the cat-house was burned to the ground by the lightning strike, the church folks were rather smug in their outlook, bragging about "the power of prayer." But late last week 'Big Jugs' Jill Diamond, the owner/madam, sued the church, the preacher and the entire congregation on the grounds that the church ... "was ultimately responsible for the demise of her building and her business -- either through direct or indirect divine actions or means."
In its reply to the court, the church vehemently and voraciously denied any and all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise. The crusty old judge read through the plaintiff's complaint and the defendant's reply, and at the opening hearing he commented, "I don't know how the hell I'm going to decide this damn case, but it appears from the paperwork that we now have a whorehouse owner who staunchly believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that thinks it's all bullshit!"

Farm Code
A little boy comes down to breakfast.
Since they live on a farm, his mother asks if he had done his chores.
" Not yet, " said the little boy.
His mother tells him no breakfast until he does his chores.
Well, he's a little teed off, so he goes to feed the chickens, and he kicks a chicken. He goes to feed the cows, and he kicks a cow. He goes to feed the pigs, and he kicks a pig. He goes back in for breakfast and his mother gives him a bowl of dry cereal.
" How come I don't get any eggs and bacon and why don't I have any milk in my cereal? " he asks.
" Well, " his mother says, " I saw you kick a chicken, so you don't get any eggs for a week. I saw you kick the pig, so you don't get any bacon for a week either. I saw you kick the cow so for a week you aren't getting any milk. "
Just then, his father comes down for breakfast and kicks the pussy cat halfway across the kitchen.
The little boy looks up at his mother with a smile, and says, " You gonna tell him or should I? "

TSA Sealed $50-Million Sequester-Eve Deal to Buy New $1,000 Uniforms
TSA Sealed $50-Million Sequester-Eve Deal to Buy New Uniforms | CNS News:
"The impending sequester did not prevent the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) from acting in late February to seal a $50-million deal to purchase new uniforms for its agents--uniforms that will be partly manufactured in Mexico.
Soon after this new investment in TSA uniforms, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned Americans that the lines are already lengthening at airports due to the sequester.
'We are already seeing the effect on the ports of entry, the big airports for example,' Napolitano told Politico on Monday. 'Some of them had very long lines this weekend.'
'Look people, I don't mean to scare, I mean to inform,' Napolitiano said.'If you're traveling, get to the airport earlier than you otherwise would. There's only so much we can do with personnel and please don't yell at the customs officers, the TSA officers. They aren't responsible for sequester.'" ...

Magazine Ban - Knowledge worth knowing
If what the dems want to do won't do any good then why do it? Perhaps, as so often in the past when they make a law that doesn't work, they just do another law that in this case would be more restrictive and continue ad infinitum until they reach their true goal of taking away all our guns. Therefore it is important to stop them in their tracks and don't let them get their foot in our door and on our necks. If you think this is an overreaction then you need to read history. This won't be the first time an oppressive government took guns away from the people.
Organ, pipes stolen from Pittsburgh church
Organ, pipes stolen from Pittsburgh church | Fox News:
" Officials at a Roman Catholic church in Pittsburgh have a holy mystery on their hands. They say someone, somehow stole the building's organ -- and the 200 massive pipes required to play it.
WPXI-TV reported Friday that the music equipment worth $200,000 has disappeared from St. Justin's Church.
Church business manager Skip Hary says he's baffled how anyone could get the organ out of the building.
He says it would either have to be maneuvered down narrow flights of steps, or lowered over a balcony. And the pipes can only be accessed by a ladder into the ceiling." ...

Obama's Sequester Math: $1 Trillion In New Taxes Called 'Spending Cuts'
Obama's Sequester Math: $300 Billion In New Revenues Called 'Spending Cuts' - Investors.com:
… "Viewed correctly, it turns out that more than $300 billion — about a third — of Obama's proposed 'spending cuts' are actually revenue increases.
As a result, instead of $1.2 trillion in spending cuts called for by the sequester over the next decade, Obama would add more than $1 trillion in revenues, while cutting outlays only about $600 billion. And much of those aren't real cuts, but tiny reductions in projected spending growth over the next decade.
And in the end, his plan, such as it is, will do nothing to forestall the nation's oncoming debt crisis.
After four years, Obama's unseriousness as a president continues to surprise us."
Obama's problem is really simple. He's knows how to campaign, he doesn't know how to govern. But he campaigns really good, look how many people he convinced to vote for him.
